 This course is designed for climbers who have climbed indoors and would like to learn the basics of climbing outside. Some of the skills you'll cover include hazard management, required gear, basic knots, top rope belaying, rappelling, and movement on natural rock. Build confidence to get outside and on real rock! 

 This course is perfect for climbers who have gotten comfortable climbing on top rope and would like to learn how to climb from the ground up. With these skills, you will be able to lead climb, lead belay, clean the route, and set up anchors for top-roping on sport systems. In this course, you will learn rope management, clipping, and how to fall safely all while backed up on a top rope system (mock-leading). Pre-requisite: comfortably climb 5.10 indoors or 5.8 outdoors. 

We'll customize a day of skill building designed just for you! Anchor building, self-rescue, alternative belay & anchor systems, problem solving, knots, and more. Let us know what you're working on, and we'll create a day of learning & instruction to help you meet your goals and build your skill base. 

You prefer the descent, navigating big drops, and flirting with water. Join us for a day of anchor building, rappelling,  & skills focused on cascading to get you started on your journey rappelling waterfalls and a taste of canyoneering.

No need for rocks here! We'll teach you the basics of ascending & descending rope using Single Rope Technique (SRT). Whether you're looking to get into the canopy or descend into the depths,  these techniques can help get you there. We utilize frog & Texas systems commonly seen in caving. These systems work for arboreal exploration, but are not the standard for arborists & arbornauts. 

We offer canoe instruction for first-time paddlers up to those looking to delve into whitewater through American Canoe Association skills courses and Assessments. Learn the basics of canoeing, advanced strokes, rescue, and more. The Shenandoah Valley offers great options for all skill levels.
